Humans are pattern-seeking organisms. We need to recognize patterns and derive meaning from them - even if there is no meaning.
This phenomenon is known as apophenia, where we perceive meaningful connections between unrelated elements - such as horses in clouds and faces in cracks in walls.
The meta experience of the work lies in observing our brains attempting to make sense of these arbitrary juxtapositions.
