Geoffrey Gifford

Contemporary Visual Artist

My creative life has always been shaped by transformation - of materials, of ideas, of identities. I’ve moved fluidly between disciplines: from design to theatre, from cultural institutions to digital environments.

What connects it all is an enduring fascination with systems of meaning and the visual languages we use to navigate the world.

Form, function, narrative, and intuition have each played their part - sometimes in harmony, sometimes in tension.

Not all of my work is meant to hang comfortably above the couch. Some of it resists comfort altogether.

And yet - I believe both have their place. The sensual, the strange, the collectible, and the confronting. This site is a map of that full range.

A map of obsessions.

Where bodies meet spirits, questions of consciousness arise.
Where machines meet bodies, we confront augmentation and decay.
Where machines meet spirits, the soul glitches.

My work lives where all three blur.
